International public art project Billboart Gallery Europe is an alternative space for presentation of contemporary art in public spaces - on billboard surfaces, with strong intention to bring art closer to public. Initiators of the project are Richard Fajnor and Juraj Čarný. The pilot exhibition of the project, simultaneously running in six central european cities, was lasting from 30th October 2003 till the end of January 2004. Paralelly was launched also regional exhibition sublabel part - Billboart Gallery SK. Within the sublabel project in Bratislava exhibited five artists from various countries.
Polish artistic group Twozywo is presenting their projects in Bratislava within sublabel gallery program during January through February 2004. The billboards with Twozywo´s artworks are located on quay of L. Svobodu and on the parking lot Avion nearby Hypernova. In February through March 2004 will be presented in Bratislava artistic projects of Czech multimedia artist Milan Mikulastik. Billboards with his artworks are located on Šancová street close to the main train station. On the opening in Gallery HIT will be beside the presentation of this artist, also advertised open competition Billboart Gallery Europe - call for entries for further international exhibition launched in May 2004. This larger scale project will run in eleven european countries.
